Importance & Relevance of Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta in Modern Era ???

IS BHAGVAD GITA RELEVANT IN MODERN TIMES?

Before Beginning this essay, I want to offer my humble obeisance unto the lotus feet of supreme lord (Sri Krishna) who enchants the whole universe and I also offer my respectful obeisance unto the lotus feet of the most glorifying manifestation of Krishna’s love, who not only known as the queen of Vrindavana but also enchants our supreme lord Krishna (Srimati Radharani). I offer my obeisance unto HDG A.C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada, who is very dear to lord Krishna and at last to all the Vaishnava devotees of the lord.

                      HARE KRISHNA! RADHE RADHE!

As you all know Shrimad Bhagavatam, is one of the most sacred and knowledgeable book in the Vedic literature which is highly admirable & worshipped by Hindus from many years...

From Vintage to modern period, this pure and glorifying essential scriptural book is considered as the memorial powerhouse, which not only describes the transcendental pastimes activities of lord krishna but also highlights the universal life lesson which ultimately purifies one’s soul as well as clarify mindset, change perspective towards life and glorify the importance of indulging into the Bhaktiyoga ,Krishna’s consciousness and way to find the supermost path of transcendental realization.(Bg.7.19)

Currently we all are living in the transformed society of 21st century, and these knowledgeable words defining central message to the world were given by Lord krishna to arjuna around 5000 years ago. So, under the current circumstances, Knowledge of Bhagwad Gita is very important & plays a vital role in our daily lives. It encourages us to live life with honesty, purity, kindness, discipline & integrity. By conceptual reading of this scriptural book one can guide himself to the path of divine self-knowledge & inner peace. Focusing on the mindset of self-control and understanding that all the materialistic desires of lust, greed and anger are considered as the gateway of downfall and destruction, one can cultivate his perspective by serving to the supreme lord of universe with utmost faith, devotion, love and accepted krishna as purest of all forms and as a supreme godhead. (Bg.10.8-11)

In this modern era (Kaliyuga) perfect knowledge of Absolute truth comes only when we perfectly understand krishna’s power & knowledge without being contaminated from materialistic energies. (Bg.18.54)

Major point is that this book also contains some valuable description & facts about how to deal with the confusion revolving in humans’ mind related to duties assigned to them by supreme lord and in what way one can fulfil the purpose of his/her birth, which is relevant for today’s world where the fluctuating mindset of humans affects their own actions & duties.

In the light of essence & relevance of reading, observing, adapting and concluding Bhagawat Gita’s norms in the Modern Age, the lord descends to this mortal world in Vrindavana to give happiness and pleasure to all the devotees & to prevails Dharma all over the world. Being free from materially contaminated consciousness Krishna spoke about the transcendental world (Bg.9.10). Lord Krishna addressing as the original creator, the creator of brahma (Bg.11.39). Krishna’s personality is so much powerful that he convinced Arjuna to fight in the Kurukshetra battlefield without thinking about its consequences (Bg.18.73). Lord Krishna also told that one can approach to Supreme abode & can reached eternal Kingdom only after becoming free from all materialistic desires & unwanted expectations. (Bg.15.5). One can attain salvation by thinking of the supreme at the time of death (Bg.8.6). The supreme lord indemnifies a person against all reactions of his/her sins & misdeeds, if such person surrenders unto him with pure love & devotion in his heart & mind (Bg.18.66). In the material sky we find the four same conditions of birth, death, disease & old age. So, if one approach spiritual sky need not to descend again to material sky (Bg.15.6). As defined in BG interplanetary systematic arrangement are formed for all living entities which includes Prithviloka also known as Mrityuloka , Swargaloka , Devaloka, Brahmaloka , Krsnaloka & the most supreme Goloka. So, if one approach the supreme planet Goloka, will free from all material inconveniences (Bg.9.25).

By fixing mind & intelligence on krishna and performing duties dedicated to krishna one can doubtlessly attain the supreme lord. (Bg.8.7) . Adopting the principle of Bhaktiyoga & accepts supreme lord as summum bonum of life is the only way to deal with the life-threatening situations facing in this Kaliyuga or material world. (Bg.9.32-33) Gita is based on the principles of Human nature, and its very well defines humanity. One who tries to become the best yogi by looking forward to the welfare of all living beings not just for personal, is very dear server of God. (Bg.18.69)
